Afters are offered to students in grades K through 5 only

All classes begin immediately following dismissal at 3:00pm and end at 4:00pm (please be on time for pickup)

Students who attend after-school programs (BANC, Boys & Girls Club, Family First) can still register and participate in PTA Afters. Students who attend Boys & Girls Club will be picked up at 4:00pm from school and brought to BGCG.
- Please read the exact dates below carefully-- programs that are scheduled to run on a date when there is no school will be made up.
**All programs must meet a minimum number of students. Any program that DOES NOT meet the minimum required by September 17, will be canceled and a refund will be issued**
ENGINEERING & ROBOT DESIGN
Grades: 3rd through 5th
Time: Mondays, 3:00-4:00pm
Dates: 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3
Instructor: Ms. Amster
Cost: $150
Description: Engineering Meets Imagination! Spark your child’s creativity with our Engineering and MimicBot Design Afters! Students take a mimicking robot and transform it into their very own animatronic creation. Through hands-on reverse engineering, they’ll safely explore circuits, design, and innovation — all while gaining confidence and expressing their unique style. Kids also learn how nature inspires invention and how to protect their original ideas. Best of all, they’ll bring home their customized MimicBot to keep creating, designing, and playing!
GARDEN CLUB
Grades: 1st through 5th
Time: Thursdays, 3:00-4:00pm
Dates: 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6
Instructors: Ms. Beth, Ms. Liz, and Ms. Catanzaro
Cost: $150
Description: It’s thyme to get your hands dirty and your green thumbs ready! Get outside in the fresh air for our after-school gardening class that offers students fun, hands-on learning as we dig, plant, and eat our way through the New Leb garden! We will plant herbs and veggies that we can taste this spring while beautifying the school grounds and doing nature-based arts and crafts. We can't wait to SEEd you in the garden!
SPORTS
Grades: K and 1st
Time: Thursdays, 3:00-4:00pm
Dates: 9/25, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6
Instructor: Mr. Carlin
Cost: $150
Description: Join New Leb's enthusiastic Mr. Carlin to let loose some of that after school energy! Students will play a wide variety of sports including, but not limited to soccer, toilet tag, sharks and minnows, badminton and so much more! The sports are endless and they change up each week. Bring your team spirit, and get ready to build skills in cooperation, sportsmanship, and fairness. Hit the ground running in this action packed class - and don't forget your sneakers!
VISUAL ARTS
Grades: 2nd through 5th

ADVENTURES IN GAME DESIGN w/ SCRATCH
Grades: 1st through 5th
Time: Fridays, 3:00-4:00pm

Instructor: Code Ninjas
Cost: $150
Description: Calling all creators! The PTA is excited to host Code Ninjas for a second season to deliver this computer-based program that is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of coding and game design. Depending on their grade level, kids will use either MIT Scratch or ScratchJr, an introductory programming language, to create their own interactive characters and design their own games. Through playful projects like Space Jam, Secret Agent, I Spy, and Maze Olympics, they’ll unlock the magic of coding while building their very own original games. Along the way, they’ll develop problem-solving and logical thinking skills while strengthening creativity, storytelling, and design abilities all in a fun, hands-on way.
