Welcome to PTA Afters! 

 

SPRING 2026

 

  • Afters are offered to students in grades K through 5 only

  • All classes begin immediately following dismissal at 3:00pm and end at 4:00pm (please be on time for pickup if your child is parent pickup) 

  • Students who attend after-school programs (BANC, Boys & Girls Club, Family First) can still register and participate in PTA Afters. Students who attend Boys & Girls Club will be picked up at 4:00pm from school and brought to BGCG.

  • Please read the exact dates below carefully-- programs that are scheduled to run on a date when there is no school will be made up.

 

**All programs must meet a minimum number of students. Any program that DOES NOT meet the minimum required, will be canceled and a refund will be issued**

 

 

SPRING AFTERS PROGRAMS:

 

 

GARDEN CLUB (six weeks)  - currently full 

Grades: K through 5th

Time: Mondays, 3:00-4:00pm

Dates: April: 13, 20, 27
            May: 4, 11, 18

Instructors: Ms. Beth and Ms. Liz

Cost: $150

Description: It’s thyme to get your hands dirty and your green thumbs ready! Join PTA moms, Ms. Beth and Ms. Liz, for garden club, spring edition. Get outside in the fresh air for our after-school gardening class that offers students fun, hands-on learning as we dig, plant, and eat our way through the New Leb garden! We will harvest herbs and veggies, beautify the school grounds, and do nature-based arts and crafts. We can't wait to see you in the garden!

 

 

 

SPORTS (six weeks)

Grades: 1st through 3rd

Time: Mondays, 3:00-4:00pm

Dates: April: 13, 20, 27
            May: 4, 11, 18

Instructor: Mr. Carlin

Cost: $150

Description: Join New Leb's enthusiastic Mr. Carlin to let loose some of that after school energy! Our spring sports afters will focus on building skills in three different specfic areas: volleyball, basketball, and pickleball. Students will spend two weeks playing each sport to really learn the rules, the technique and the teamwork required for each game. Bring your team spirit, and get ready to build skills in cooperation, sportsmanship, and fairness. Hit the ground running in this action packed class - and don't forget your sneakers!

 

 

 

VISUAL ARTS: Collaging & Sewing (8 weeks) -  currently full 

Grades: 1st through 5th

Time: Mondays, 3:00-4:00pm

Dates: April: 13, 20, 27
            May: 4, 11, 18
            June: 8, 15

Instructor: Ms. Herbst and Ms. Fox

Cost: $200

Description: Is your child ready to swap screen time for studio time? Sign up with Ms. Herbst and Ms. Fox for the spring PTA 8-week Creative Arts Afters! Designed to spark imagination and build tangible skills, this hands-on workshop invites students to explore two incredible mediums- Collaging and Sewing! The first four weeks will focus on collage, a fun activity that involves pasting items of various materials like painted paper or photographs onto a sheet of paper. Making a collage helps your child build fine motor skills, can develop your child's awareness of color, and the importance of texture. In the second half, we’ll transition from paper to pins! Sewing is a "superpower" skill that blends mathematical logic with artistic flair. Students will go from threading a needle to creating their own handmade treasures. All supplies will be provided and you will bring home your finished work at the end of each week!

 

 

 

BALLROOM DANCING (8 weeks)

Grades: 3rd through 5th

Time: Thursdays, 3:00-4:00pm

Dates: April: 16, 23, 30
            May: 7, 14, 21, 28
            June: 4

Instructor: Ms. Rose and Ms. DeLeon

Cost: $200

Description: Don't miss this opportunity to discover the culture and excitement of ballroom dancing and to learn some new moves from two of New Leb's most accomplished dancers! Over the course of this 8-week program, 4th grade teachers Ms. DeLeon and Ms. Rose will take student around the world to learn about 3-4 unique dances. Each fun and welcoming class session will include an introduction to the cultural history and significance of the dance, followed by practice of foundational steps and a simple routine. Get your dancing shoes ready for this new afters program that will bulid confidence, fitness and connection among participants. 

 

 

 

STEM: BOLDER BUILDERS (8 weeks)

Grades: 3rd through 5th

Time: Thursdays, 3:00-4:00pm

Dates: April: 16, 23, 30
            May: 7, 14, 21, 28
            June: 4

Instructor: Ms. Amster

Cost: $200

Description: Join Ms. Amster for another exciting STEM program, this time focused on the engineering and design of buildings. Using a curriculum called Bolder Builders from the National Inventors Hall of Fame program, student will work with Archie Tek, a fictional engineer, architect and builder, to restore a town called Unlucky. Students will model, build, and test shelters that will house the Unlucky town residents during different weather conditions while exploring the engineering of bridges and other structures in the town.
